Pastor Nathan Eshelman

Nathan Eshelman was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania and became a Christian at the age of 17. As he grew in his understanding of God’s Word he desired to pursue a more formal theological education, which led him to Grand Rapids, MI to study at Calvin and Kuyper Colleges. He met his wife, Lydia at Calvin College.

Following college, they helped to plant the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, MI. He attended Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, where he completed his Master of Divinity Degree under the oversight of the Great Lakes-Gulf Presbytery of the RPCNA. Nathan was called to serve the Los Angeles congregation in 2009.

Since 2009, he has completed his Doctor of Ministry degree at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. He also is pursuing a Master of Theology degree at Puritan Reformed Seminary. Nathan has a heart for church planting, pastoral ministry, experiential and expository preaching, and both home and global missions. He serves as president of the RPCNA’s Home Mission Board as well as clerk of the Pacific Coast Presbytery.

Nathan is married to Lydia and they have five children. He has been a pastor at LA RPC since 2009.

Pastor Namsik Yang

Namsik Yang, originally from Seoul, South Korea, joined the LA RPC in 2011 and eventually moved to Pittsburgh, PA to pursue a Master of Divinity degree at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. During his time there, he learned Christ-centered preaching; how to build a Christ-centered community; and what it takes to become a faithful servant of God.

Namsik earned a BA from Seo-Kyoung University, majoring in International Trade, with a minor in Philosophy. He served as an assistant pastoral intern in Ha-Neul-So-Mang church in Seoul where he assisted with the youth along side with other responsibilities. His other internship was at Rose Point RP Church outside of New Castle, PA where he gained valuable insight into pastoral ministry. Returning to Los Angeles in the summer of 2014, he had opportunity to intern under Dr. Eshelman.

Namsik is also on staff at Young American Leader's Association (YALA) of Tyndale International University, where he assists in the theological training of short term missionaries for outreach in Asia. He is currently enrolled at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in a Master of Theology program with concentration on Reformation and Post-Reformation Church History. Lord willing, at some point he will go back to his home land bringing with him a passion for reformation for the Korean speaking world.

He is married to Eun Kim Yang, also an RPTS graduate (MA in Biblical Counseling) and they have two children. Namsik likes running, watching movies, and translating Christian literature. He has been a pastor at LA RPC since 2015.
